What Benefits are Available?
Depending on level of medical care as well as financial need, there may be state benefits available for financial assistance. The main benefit people use is called the Arizona Long Term Care System, or ALTCS for short. ALTCS is a program run by the state of Arizona using federal Medicaid money, aimed at helping medically needy people afford the long term care they need. Give us a call today to see if you might qualify.
Care Options
Many young people looking for group homes needs the care due to a traumatic brain injury (TBI). A TBI is any injury that affects how the brain functions. TBI is a major cause of disability for younger people and is often due to automobile, bicycle, or other types of accidents. Of course, a person of any age can experience a TBI. This is why it’s important to have care options available.
Group Homes for Young People Information
Benefits of Group Homes
A group home is a great option for those who only require light to moderate support with activities of daily living. Activities of daily living include getting dressed, eating, cooking, bathing, using the bathroom, etc. Group homes can provide comfort and care while those with TBIs recover.
How to pay for Care
For those who need care, but cannot afford it, there are benefits available. Senior Planning has many years of experience with both the ALTCS benefit and the VA Aid and Attendance benefit. If you are not sure whether or not your or your loved one qualifies, give us a call for a free consultation.
What is Guardianship?
For TBI patients that are over 18 without a medical power of attorney in place, a guardianship may be required. A guardianship allows someone to make medical decisions on behalf of an incapacitated adult. Senior Planning can assist with the filing and preparation of guardianships.
